“The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, although the cross was intended to be an instrument of torture and death, in Christ it became a means of life and salvation. It is through Christ’s death on the cross that death has been conquered and the gates of eternal life have been opened. In this living faith we lay to rest our beloved dead in consecrated ground to await the day when Christ will raise our mortal bodies to be with him forever.
Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery is an affirmation of our faith, an expression of the dignity and reverence we owe to our departed loved ones and an act of respect and honor for the beauty and sacredness of the human body. Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery is maintained and operated with great care and devotion. Its quiet surroundings pay tribute to those who have been laid to rest and give a sense of peace and comfort to families and friends left behind. Those who are buried there are daily remembered in our masses and prayers, especially on Memorial Day and All Souls Day when a Mass of Resurrection is celebrated at the cemetery chapel.
